'All parties interested': Everton are close to signing 'amazing' Champions League player, says Fabrizio Romano

Everton are working on a deal to re-sign PSG midfielder, Idrissa Gueye, with talks underway between all parties this weekend to find a resolution.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano anyway, who has provided an update on the situation involving Gueye and Everton being reunited. Of course, it comes just days after initial reports broke to say that the Toffees had been in contact with PSG about signing the midfielder.

And according to Romano, who has taken to his Twitter account to update everyone, PSG are wanting Gueye’s salary paid in full by Everton to sanction a loan deal. Crucially though, it’s claimed everyone involved is interested in the deal, including the player himself.

Gueye spent a good spell with Everton before and was well-liked at Goodison Park before moving on. He was labelled as an ‘amazing‘ player by Morgan Schneiderlin, and it’s easy to see why Frank Lampard wants him back.

Should Everton land Gueye, it will be another new addition for Lampard this summer. After losing Richarlison to Tottenham, the Toffees boss has been backed with the signings of Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski. More are expected to follow, too.

TBR’s View: Gueye Is Smart Business By Everton

This would work out well for the Toffees you feel. They’d be getting a player who’s enjoyed being at one of Europe’s biggest clubs in recent seasons, as well as someone who knows the club as well.

Gueye is a quality operator and would bring bite and quality to the middle of the park. Another plus point is the fact Gueye won’t need any time to adapt to England, given how he played here before.

If Everton can get this one done, then it’s a smart loan deal for the club. Gueye improves the squad, it’s as simple as that.
