‘Negotiation on’: Fabrizio Romano says Leeds are talking to European club about ‘brilliant’ young player

Leeds United could be about to move Crysencio Summerville out before the window slams shut on Monday evening, with German side Hamburg expressing an interest in the young winger.

Summerville has been in and around the first-team picture this season but hasn’t quite had the impact some might have been expecting. However, is still thought to be highly-rated at Elland Road and his performances in training have even caught the eye of Jack Harrison. The Leeds winger branding Summerville as a ‘brilliant player’ just a week or so back.

But despite that praise, Leeds are thought to be open to Summerville going. And according to Fabrizio Romano, the club are in talks with Hamburg about a potential deal to see Summerville go out before Monday night.

As Romano mentions, Leeds are looking for a replacement. Again, as Romano says, Takumi Minamino from Liverpool is one of the names being mentioned. However, as reported yesterday, the Reds are thought to want around £20m for the Japanese star who they only signed 12 months ago.

Leeds have struggled with inconsistencies and injury all season long. But in recent weeks, they have picked up, with a stunning win at West Ham a highlight.

TBR’s View: Summerville Loan Not A Bad Idea

It would be a shame for Leeds to negotiate any sort of permanent deal for Summerville, given his immense talent and obvious potential. But a loan deal might work out well for everyone.

Summerville has a lot to offer Leeds. Speed, trickery, and a decisiveness in the final third that a lot of teams crave. However, he is still a young man learning his trade. A spell away on loan, then, could help him.

Marcelo Bielsa would need that replacement in though. He can’t be letting Summerville go without anyone else in the building.
