Romano says club have now made approach for 'incredible' Arsenal player

Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that Sead Kolasinac has moved a step closer to leaving Arsenal, with Marseille approaching the defender about a move.

Kolasinac is one of the players who Mikel Arteta may well want to move on in this window. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has barely featured since returning from his loan spell at Schalke.

Arsenal should be willing to let Sead Kolasinac seal January move as Marseille begin talks

Marseille are able to discuss a pre-contract deal with Kolasinac. And the French club may be content with a move that starts in the summer.

But Arsenal would be wise to try and arrange a January move for the left-back. He is unlikely to play any significant role in the second-half of the season.

Arsenal would benefit most from offloading Kolasinac this month. He is reportedly earning a hefty sum in wages. And moving those terms off the books will surely help Arteta in his quest to land new signings.

They may have to cover some of his wages until the summer. But they will hardly complain if his exit helps pave the way for a new signing.
