Fabrizio Romano has told Que Golazo that he has been told that Raphinha is really keen to make the move from Leeds United to Barcelona as he continues to be linked with the Catalan giants.

It does appear that Raphinha is looking increasingly likely to leave Elland Road this summer. The Brazilian has been ‘unbelievable‘ since moving to the Premier League.

Leeds fans have always been realistic about what the future holds for Raphinha. And if he is not going to sign a new contract, this summer may be the right time to cash in.

It is also not the worst outcome if he joins a side outside of the Premier League. So some may reluctantly see the merit in letting him join Barca.

Certainly, Raphinha looks to be keen on the move. Romano has now claimed that the 25-year-old is edging closer to agreeing terms with Xavi’s men, with talks now at an advanced stage.

“There are many options [to sign Raphinha due to release clauses]. That’s why Barcelona are waiting. At the moment there is nothing between clubs, Barca are waiting they are just talking with his agent, Deco. The relationship with Laporte is simply excellent,” he told Que Golazo.

“That is why they are in very good talks and very advanced talks. From what I’m told Raphinha is really attracted by this possibility of joining Barcelona.

“The deal is progressing on the player’s side, let’s see what happens on Leeds’ side.

“There’s a serious chance for Barca.”

Leeds will hope Raphinha sale can lead to Jesse Marsch’s side kicking on

Clearly, it could really be a big blow for Leeds to lose Raphinha. Were it not for his goals, the Whites would be in serious danger of being relegated.

There are still doubts over their Premier League survival. But they have given themselves a good chance of staying up. And they will hope that the fee that they receive for Raphinha gives them the launchpad to kick on.

He has been their best player this season. However, he has not been without fault either. So there is an opportunity for Leeds to take a positive from the situation.

There is work to be done between the two clubs. But it would certainly appear that Raphinha would be ready to move to Barcelona if Leeds give a deal the green light.
