Romano confirms on Twitter 25-year-old has completed his Everton medical and shares contract details
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on Twitter that Demarai Gray has completed his medical ahead of his move to Everton.
Gray looks set to be the third first-team signing Rafa Benitez is able to welcome through the door at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have landed Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic. And it appears that they are on the verge of announcing another shrewd piece of business.
Reports earlier this week claimed Gray would undergo a medical on Tuesday.
And it appears that a deal has now moved a step closer.
According to Romano, Gray has completed his medical. He is now set to sign a three-year deal with an option for a further year.
The journalist has also suggested that the fee will be around £1.7 million.
Gray worth the risk for Everton as deal edges closer with medical done
Benitez has seemingly been pragmatic with his moves in the market so far. Townsend was a free agent.
Begovic meanwhile, looks set to be a smart signing with the Toffees needing cover for Jordan Pickford.
Gray could be deemed something of a wildcard. He has not had the best couple of years with Leicester and then Bayer Leverkusen.
But he is a player who has previously shown a lot of promise. And at £1.7 million, it is hard to argue that Everton have not made a really clever decision by bringing him back to England.
