Romano claims Arsenal have Willian bid from Corinthians
Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Arsenal have received a big boost in their bid to offload Willian with Corinthians putting an offer on the table for the 33-year-old.
Willian’s spell at the Emirates has proved to be a nightmare. It is easy to forget just how well it started, with the Brazilian providing two assists on his Premier League debut for the Gunners.
However, he endured a miserable campaign. And with Arsenal paying him around £192,000-a-week, fans may have feared that it was a deal that the club would be forced to rue for several years.
Previously, reports claimed that a move to Inter Miami fell through over his wage demands.
And with few clubs splashing the cash this summer, it seemed difficult to imagine that he would attract the kind of offers that would tempt him to move on.
But perhaps there is now hope for Arsenal.
According to Romano, a bid from Corinthians is on the table. It is noted that Willian is considering it, having wanted to leave the Gunners since earlier this year.
Willian has never been in talks with Al Ahli – priority still to European clubs, but Corinthians are now pushing.

Huge boost for Arsenal if Willian does join Corinthians
It has been a difficult summer for Arsenal fans. The overhaul they hoped for has not exactly happened.
Part of the problem has been the failure to shift a number of players. And obviously, Willian is one of those many of the fans would like moved on.
So it would be huge for Arsenal to agree a deal with Corinthians – even if they still have to contribute some of his wages.
Perhaps it may come too late to have an impact on this window. But freeing that space should help the club in January and next summer.
