Arsenal want to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer but Brendan Rodgers is said to have a plan in place to convince the Belgian to stay put.

Tielemans is yet to sign a new contract with the Foxes and there is growing concern among the Leicester higher-ups that the midfielder will indeed end up leaving. That’s left the club in a tricky position, with this summer probably the last chance for Leicester to make big money on their man.

However, while Arsenal’s interest is genuine and serious, 90Min has reported that Brendan Rodgers remains hopeful of convincing Tielemans to stay. They claim that Rodgers is hoping for a big summer spending spree at Leicester. With that, he hopes that the ambition of the club will convince Tielemans to sign new terms himself.

90Min claims that Tielemans could cost around £40m, despite the small amount left on his contract.

TBR’s View: Arsenal And Tielemans Perfect Match

Arsenal need that top class central midfielder and Youri Tielemans is definitely the right sort of fit. In fact, speaking of top class, that is exactly how Pep Guardiola described the Leicester man back in 2021.

Even at £40m, you have to say that Tielemans would be worth it. You are talking about a quality Premier League midfielder here who has produced in the biggest moments for the Foxes. He is exactly what Arsenal need at this moment.

Further, with questions still being asked about Granit Xhaka’s future, Tielemans makes all kind of sense. It’s a big summer coming for Arsenal, this, and Tielemans would be ideal.
