Arsenal are in the mix to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City in the summer, with Het Nieuwsblad reporting that the Belgian is now preparing to leave the Foxes at the end of the campaign.

Tielemans’ future has been a talking point for some time. His deal at the King Power Stadium expires at the end of next season. And he is yet to pen an extension at Leicester.

Arsenal have been linked with the 24-year-old for a little while. In fact, it was reported in January that Edu had held talks with representatives at the Gunners’ training ground.

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal are not alone in the race for Tielemans. Het Nieuwsblad reports that Manchester United are also following the midfielder. Real Madrid and Juventus are also admirers.

It is suggested that the Gunners are hot on the trail of Tielemans. And Leicester may be prepared to knock a decent chunk off of his asking price.

Het Nieuwsblad reports that he is valued at £46.3 million. However, it is added that some sources have claimed that Leicester would accept £33.7 million.

Tielemans not at his best this season, but £34 million move could be inspired for Arsenal

Arsenal definitely need to strengthen in midfield in the summer. They failed to bring in any new faces during the January transfer window.

Tielemans meanwhile, has not been at his best this term. He has struggled to hit the heights of last season when he smashed the winner in the top corner in the FA Cup final.

Nevertheless, his contract situation opens the door for a potential masterstroke. Certainly, if he rediscovers his best form, he could be an amazing signing for £33.7 million. Pep Guardiola labelled him a ‘top, top-class‘ player in the past.

Arsenal need to act quickly however. There are clearly going to be some incredibly appealing options on the table this summer.
