Rio Ferdinand says the future of reported Liverpool target will be “crazy”
Rio Ferdinand has explained why he loves Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as a player, amid reported interest from Liverpool.
Bellingham, who turns 18 today (Tuesday), is an extremely talented teenage midfielder.
He’s a rising star that has just enjoyed an excellent debut season with Borussia Dortmund. Therefore, he was included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad this summer.
The midfield powerhouse would surely love to play in England’s Round of 16 tie tonight at the Euros against Germany.
Eurosport claimed back in April that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the situation of Bellingham.
Pundit Ferdinand has waxed lyrical about the quality of the England international. In addition, he’s tipping him for a “crazy future”.
“I love this guy. I just love his whole vibe. He’s fearless, like a lot of the young players,” Ferdinand said.
“Bellingham has got something about him where you can see him leading this team in years to come. There is a steadiness about him.
“He’s got an air of confidence about him, borderline arrogance that I love to see in a young player. His future is going to be crazy.”
Potential of Jude Bellingham is frightening, Liverpool need him
If you watch Bellingham on the pitch, it seems impossible to believe his age.
Firstly, his physique is huge and he’ll only fill out more in the next few years. Secondly, he’s a box-to-box central midfielder that has got a bit of everything in his game. The youngster can score, assist, pass and tackle. Finally, the fact he’s moved abroad shows his character and Southgate has already given him some minutes off the bench at the Euros tournament.
With Liverpool losing Georginio Wijnaldum, Bellingham looks like a ready-made replacement.
