Tottenham Hotspur will have to get a result in Marseille next week to advance in the Champions League this season.
They went behind to a Marcus Edwards strike in the first half, before Rodrigo Bentancur equalised in the second half.
There were certainly positives for Spurs to take from the game, but it’s hard to focus on them with the way the game ended.
Harry Kane’s controversial disallowed goal in the final moments ruined what would have been a very successful evening for Antonio Conte’s side.
He will have been happy to see one of his players finally fit enough to return to the starting line-up.

Lucas Moura was given his first start of the season, as Conte returned to his normal tactical set-up.
Moura has struggled with his fitness all season, and Conte suggested Tottenham have been very careful with him.
However, he more than doubled his total minutes for the season yesterday, only coming off in the closing stages.
Moura’s teammates Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski were both impressed with his performance yesterday.
The pair replied to the £23m winger’s Instagram after the game.
Richarlison and Kuluseveski impressed by Moura
Moura took to social media after the match to send a message to Tottenham’s fans after the game.
“Great character, great fighting spirit from everyone. We deserved more, but this is football,” Moura said.
“Amazing feeling to be in the starting 11 after a long time, thanks again to everyone who has helped me during this period.
“We keep working! Glory to God always.”

Richarlison replied to his fellow Brazilian applauding his performance, while Kulusevski loved what he saw.
Spurs fans will be so happy to see Moura is available again and close to full fitness.
Although Conte previously suggested Moura could play right-back this season, for the balance of the team he needs to play further forward.

Moura has a special relationship with the Champions League after his heroics at Ajax in 2019.
Although Moura’s performance wasn’t at that level yesterday, Kulusevski and Richarlison were still very impressed with the 30-year-old.
