Liverpool haven’t looked back since the appointment of Arne Slot with a perfect start to life in the Premier League.
There is plenty of work to do off the field as Mohamed Salah‘s contract situation still needs to be resolved, with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also coming to the end of their deals.
Indeed, the current saga at Liverpool is the Salah contract situation, which was really brought into the limelight after the Egyptian came on Sky Sports to give his say.
This is something that really shocked Nedum Onuoha who stated that he was surprised Salah was allowed to come out and say what he said.
However, things are going well for the Reds right now. They knew they were getting an exciting new boss but no one will have expected Arne Slot to come in and produce the results he has at Liverpool.
And, it appears as if one pundit in particular would love the chance to manage the Reds…
ESPN pundit would love to manage Liverpool more than anyone else in the world
Of course, the Liverpool job won’t be available for a good while yet with how well Slot is doing but there’s no harm in dreaming.
On ESPN, Steve Nicol put his name forward for a potential managerial role at Liverpool as a joke after being asked on which club he would want to manage.
“It’s hard to see past Liverpool isn’t it. Just, no, Liverpool. Yeah, absolutely. Easy, Liverpool. I might not get another chance, you’ve got my number”.
Steve Nicol has managed over 350 games for New England but it’s unlikely that this experience is enough to ever get him the Liverpool job.

What are Steve Nicol’s managerial stats?
At no point are we saying his comment was him hoping that he’d ever get to manage Liverpool and nor will it ever come true, but let’s take a dive into his background anyway.
As mentioned above, his managerial stint came in the United States. He managed 323 games as the New England boss and achieved 1.4 points per game during this time, as well as being in charge of 30 games as the caretaker manager prior to being the head coach.
Arne Slot has a perfect record for the Reds with 3 points per game, so it doesn’t look as if the 1.4 points per game from Nicol will ever be considered by Anfield chiefs but here’s to hoping.
