Report: Wolves have asked Juventus about Aaron Ramsey but he wants Italy stay
According to reports coming out of Italy this weekend, Wolves have asked Juventus about the possibility of signing Aaron Ramsey this summer.
Calciomercato run the report, and claim that Wolves have enquired about signing the former Arsenal midfielder.
However, Wolves fans shouldn’t get carried away just yet. CM state that while Juve are open to moving Ramsey on, he is happy in Italy and has no intention of returning to England just yet.
They claim that Ramsey is resisting the urge to move back to the Premier League as things stand. Despite being a squad player in Turin, he is keen to fight for his place in the Juventus team.
Wolves are looking bringing new players to help new manager, Bruno Lage.
The club has uncertainty over some of its top stars. Adama Traore could move on, with the likes of Leeds and Spurs keen. Ruben Neves has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Ramsey, then, could be a good option. He has experience in the PL, while his 67 international caps and 17 goals show his class at the highest level.
Spurs have also shown an interest in Ramsey too, according to reports.
Ambitious from Wolves, and expensive
It’s admirable that Wolves are looking at a player of Ramsey’s calibre, in fairness to them. The big issue though, is that it’s well known the Welshman is on serious money in Turin.
He’s thought to earn over £300k-a-week, and he’s not obliged to lower those demands or opt out of his impressive deal.
Wolves just won’t be paying those sorts of wages. So while Ramsey would bring quality and experience to the ranks, it seems like a deal that will be tough to complete.
