Tottenham were absolutely outstanding against Everton last night and Antonio Conte just couldn’t contain his excitement on the touchline at times.
Spurs smashed five past Frank Lampard’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday and Everton were arguably lucky that the scoreline didn’t look much worse.
As good as Conte’s men were, they missed plenty of chances. They could’ve easily scored 10 past the Toffees last night, but the Italian is a happy man nevertheless and Spurs’ confidence will be sky-high now.
One moment of the game that Conte wouldn’t have liked last night was when fourth official Martin Atkinson had a little go at him on the touchline.
Why Antonio Conte was scolded by the fourth official on the touchline
According to Football London, in the first half of the game last night, Antonio Conte raced outside his technical area to have a word with Ryan Sessegnon.
It wasn’t just a couple of steps outside the area, the Italian was 10 or15 yards away from where he was supposed to be. He was reportedly instructing Sessegnon about his positioning as his teammates moved the ball across the backline towards him.
As Conte returned to his technical area, a frustrated Atkinson walked up to him and made it clear that he cannot do that again. As the game approached half-time, the fourth official was spotted keeping a close eye on the Spurs boss to make sure that he wouldn’t leave his area.
This wasn’t the first time Conte left his technical area and was scolded by the fourth official, and it definitely won’t be the last time either.

TBR View:
The win last night was a massive one for Tottenham. Yes, they were the favourites to pick up all three points even before the first whistle, but this was exactly the type of game that Spurs fans feared that their side would mess up.
Thankfully for them, Everton were abysmal and Tottenham did what they had to do to secure a truly convincing victory.
Spurs face Manchester United next in what could be called a six-pointer. A win on Saturday will push Tottenham ahead of the Reds Devils while still having two games in hand over them.
That could effectively rule Ralf Rangnick’s side out of the top-four race and Spurs, alongside their local rivals Arsenal, will then position themselves as the favourites to get back into the Champions League next season.
