Report: What Leeds understand about rival contract offers for Gjanni Alioski
Leeds United understand that the contract offers for Gjanni Alioski are more lucrative than the extension the Whites have put on the table, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
As of now, Alioski is technically a free agent. Leeds have reportedly been trying to agree terms with the North Macedonia international for some time.
However, with Alioski’s next move yet to be confirmed, some fans are holding out hope that he could yet extend his stay at Elland Road.
But it appears that Leeds may be underdogs in the race.
According to the Daily Mirror, Leeds’s contract remains on the table. But the report adds that the Premier League side understand the rival offers are more lucrative.
Alioski signing new contract would be boost for Leeds, but convincing him may not be easy
Leeds saw the best of Alioski towards the end of last season. He was excellent at left-back in the final weeks of the campaign.
The Whites are reportedly working on a deal for Junior Firpo. But keeping Alioski would still be a boost.
He can play almost anywhere. So, as a squad player, he is a very good option to have.
But of course, Alioski may not want a squad player role at this stage of his career.
And with Leeds reportedly believing that Alioski has better offers elsewhere, it does appear that Marcelo Bielsa’s men may face an uphill battle.
