Leeds fans discuss Gjanni Alioski as contract expires

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Gjanni Alioski with the 29-year-old now seemingly out of contract at Elland Road.

Alioski has been one of the players facing an uncertain future with the Whites.

The North Macedonia international was a prominent fixture in Marcelo Bielsa’s side, particularly in the second-half of last season.

Leeds have seemingly been in talks with Alioski for some time. There is reportedly a contract offer on the table.

However, with no announcement on his future made, it would appear that Alioski is technically now a free agent.

And for some, that is incredibly disappointing. Alioski has come in for criticism at times. It probably says a fair amount that Leeds seemingly let his deal run down to its latter stages.

But he is definitely a fan favourite. And he actually ended the campaign in brilliant form.

He showed that he was more than good enough for the Premier League. And given his versatility, it would be a boost if the £15,000-a-week star stuck around.

However, he is unlikely to be a first-choice next season. So you can also understand why Alioski may be looking to move on.

It remains to be seen what announcement is made on Alioski’s future. But what is not in doubt is many will be extremely disappointed if he does leave.
