Aston Villa have agreed to make Danny Ings one of their highest-paid players with The Athletic reporting that the striker will earn £120,000-a-week following his switch from Southampton.
The football world was left stunned on Wednesday as it was announced out of the blue that the forward had joined the Villans.

There seemed to be little speculation seriously linking the 29-year-old with a switch to Villa Park.
And it now seems to have become somewhat clear why really that was.
According to The Athletic, negotiations with Ings only started on Monday of this week. Within two days, the move had been announced.

As noted in the report, the England international will cost £30 million. And they have also shared some detail on the lucrative contract he has signed.
The Athletic claims that he will pocket £120,000-a-week. Unsurprisingly, he has instantly become one of Villa’s top earners.
Aston Villa likely to be envy of many Premier League sides as report shares what Danny Ings will earn
Some may see Villa’s move for Ings as a gamble. He will be 30 in just under 12 months. And he has struggled with injury in the past.
However, it looks to be a real steal from the Villans. He scored 34 goals across the last two Premier League campaigns.
If he can replicate that sort of form for Dean Smith’s side, he will be a very smart signing.
And given how swiftly everything happened, it would be no surprise if many of Villa’s Premier League rivals were already ruing not acting when they had the chance.
