Report: West Ham want Moises Caicedo if Declan Rice leaves
West Ham United view Moises Caicedo as a long-term replacement for Declan Rice, with the Daily Mail reporting that Brighton value the midfielder at £60 million.
Caicedo has a host of admirers in the Premier League after a superb start to the season for club and country. Reports from the Sunday Mirror towards the end of the summer window claimed that Arsenal and Liverpool want the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, The Sun recently suggested that Newcastle want the Ecuador international. Of course, he went on to play a key role as his country came desperately close to getting out of their group in Qatar.
West Ham keen on Moises Caicedo
The Brighton midfielder most have been talking about in the last few days is Alexis Mac Allister. Obviously, the 23-year-old helped Argentina win the whole tournament.
But it seems that the clubs are circling around Caicedo.
The Daily Mail also suggests that Newcastle want the youngster. But interestingly, it is also reported that West Ham have their eye on Caicedo.
It is claimed that the Hammers view him as a possible replacement for Rice. Brighton meanwhile, want £60 million for Caicedo.
Obviously, West Ham fans will probably not want to think about the prospect of what happens should Rice move on. He has been outstanding throughout his time in the first-team. And replacing him is going to be a huge task.
However, Caicedo would be a fantastic target. He has been ‘magnificent‘ for Brighton, particularly this season. And he is likely to only get better in the coming years.
The interest in Caicedo tells its own story. So it would be a real coup for West Ham if they do ultimately manage to sign the midfielder.
