West Ham are interested in signing Breel Embolo having continued to monitor the striker after looking at a deal in the summer, according to a report from the Sunday People (2/1; page 56).
The Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking ranks during the January transfer window. Michail Antonio continues to shoulder the majority of responsibility when it comes to leading the line.

With a top four spot in the Premier League still up for grabs, it would be a risk to let the window pass without strengthening. And it appears that they have identified Embolo as a potential target.
The Sunday People (2/1; page 56) reports that both the Irons and Brighton want the 24-year-old. It is noted that West Ham were keen on the Switzerland international during the summer.

Breel Embolo shouldn’t be written off, but West Ham fans may not feel inspired by links
Embolo has not had the best year with Borussia Monchengladbach. In fact, he only has two goals in the Bundesliga, with two goals and two assists also coming in the cup tie with Bayern Munich.
He has had a couple of injury issues. And of course, West Ham did not have the best luck when they last signed a striker from the Bundesliga in the shape of Sébastien Haller.
It does appear that he has struggled to kick on after emerging at Basel. Obviously, David Moyes has done some amazing work helping players improve and find their best form.
Perhaps Gladbach would be open to letting him go for a reasonable price given his struggles. And with that, the door could be open to a potential bargain.
