Report: West Ham United now make bid to sign ‘incredible’ defender in January, Tottenham Hotspur want him too
West Ham United have failed to replicate their brilliant form from the last two seasons this campaign.
David Moyes’ side are just a point above the relegation zone and have lost four of their last five games.
A report from Milan Live suggests they’re already making moves to improve their squad in January.
The Hammers were one of the heaviest spending clubs in the summer.
Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta, defenders Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer and forward Gianluca Scamacca were all brought in.
Moyes has been unlucky with defensive injuries, but has struggled to find his best starting line-up.
He’s been given the World Cup break to work with the squad, but patience is starting to wear out.
The 22-year-old Kiwior has been very good at the World Cup for Poland.
The Poles haven’t conceded a goal so far in Qatar, and know a draw against Argentina tonight sees them qualify for the knockout stages.
West Ham make bid for Kiwior
The report suggests that the Hammers have made a £13m bid for Kiwior, but Spezia want £17.5m.
This is the same asking price quoted by reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The ‘incredible’ defender is attracting plenty of interest from Italy’s top clubs.
Juventus, Napoli and Roma are also looking to sign Kiwior in January, and the Hammers will likely need to match Kiwior’s asking price to win the race to sign him.
West Ham are not the only Premier League side looking to secure Kiwior’s services.
Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the Polish international.
Kiwior can play in the centre or left of a three-man defence, something that would appeal to Antonio Conte.
Given how much investment the Hammers have made at the back this season, a move for Kiwior doesn’t seem too likely right now.
Although West Ham have now reportedly made a bid for Kiwior, they face some intense competition.
The centre-back will be trying to concentrate on his side’s progression at the World Cup.
He’s likely to return to Spezia with plenty of options on the table for a January move.
