Report: West Ham open talks to sign Rangers star
Give Me Sport claim that West Ham United are now in talks to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer. David Moyes is said to be a keen admirer of the Finland international, who was one of his side’s better players at Euro 2020. The Hammers have made an enquiry to Rangers.
Kamara, 25, has been a sensational signing for Steven Gerrard at Rangers. Brought in for just £50,000 from Dundee in January 2019 having already put pen to paper on a pre-contract, Kamara has since played 106 games. His passing, ball retention and work rate are crucial elements of Gerrard’s side.
Now, the report claims that West Ham have asked Rangers about the ex-Arsenal star ahead of a potential move this summer. A previous report from GMS claims that Arsenal, Everton and Brentford have also shown interest in Kamara – while an unnamed Russian club have also made an offer.
How much should Rangers charge West Ham for Kamara?
Short-sighted football fans will claim that Kamara will struggle in the Premier League because Rangers play Scottish football. But the ball-playing midfielder’s best performances have come in the Europa League over the last two seasons. He has been excellent, Euro 2020 being further proof.
So, with that in mind, and that Rangers have already brought in a replacement in the form of John Lundstram, they can charge a decent price. A fee should at least be £10million, and if not, slightly more. If Kamara goes to West Ham for £12million, most would agree that it is a decent price.
