West Ham are monitoring Eric Bailly as the defender looks to seal a move away from Manchester United in the coming days, according to a report from ESPN.
The Hammers have been dealt a transfer blow this week. Reports claimed that they wanted Conor Coady. However, it was announced on Tuesday that the centre-back has joined Everton on loan.

David Moyes has other options in mind. ESPN reports that West Ham are one of the sides keen on Bailly. Sevilla and Monaco are also admirers, while Everton were eyeing a possible deal before they landed Coady.
It would be no surprise to see Bailly leave Old Trafford before the deadline passes. He played no part in their season-opener against Brighton at the weekend. In fact, he was left out of the match day squad altogether.

ESPN reports that Bailly hopes to make progress on finding a new home this week.
West Ham monitoring Eric Bailly
Bailly has had a difficult time at Manchester United. Certainly, the quality is most definitely there. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously labelled the Ivorian ‘immense‘ during his tenure.
Unfortunately, he has really struggled with injury since making the move from Villarreal. And with that, it may be a gamble for West Ham to pursue a deal.
If he can enjoy some luck, he could be a fantastic signing. And it seems that Manchester United would not be against moving him on. So there may be scope for a good fee to be agreed.
West Ham must strengthen at the heart of their defence before the window shuts, particularly after losing Nayef Aguerd in pre-season.
And perhaps Moyes feels that signing Bailly is a gamble worth taking.
