Report: West Ham United now want to sign 'amazing' England international

West Ham United now want to sign England international Conor Coady.

Journalist Alex Crook has suggested that the Hammers want to sign the Wolves ace, when speaking on talkSPORT this morning at around 11:03 am.

He has also said that there is a growing expectation that Coady will depart Molineux this summer, on Twitter.

Coady apparently wants regular gametime with the World Cup coming up later this year with England and intense competition for places at centre-back.

West Ham want Coady

David Edwards played with Coady at Wolves and said of him earlier this year: “He is a top human being, look at how he picked the young fan up after the Everton game to celebrate.

“He’s such a likeable person with empathy and positivity.

“In my opinion he’s one of the most important players to wear a Wolves shirt in the last 30 or 40 years because of what he brings to the city – he’s more than a football player.

“He embodies everything.”

It would be a bit of a surprise if Wolves hurried Coady out of the door, to a Premier League rival before the end of the transfer window.

He has been at the heart of their rise from the Championship to where they are now, offering leadership and passing quality from the middle of their back three.

There are also questions over whether he can adjust his game to a back four on a regular basis, and would he really play more regularly at West Ham than Wolves?

But if they could get him in through the door it would be a great coup for West Ham during a window where they need to get their squad ready for the rigours of European football.
