Report: West Ham lead Arsenal and Liverpool in Patson Daka race
Arsenal and Liverpool could miss out on Patson Daka this summer, with West Ham now leading the race to sign the RB Salzburg ace.
That is according to Zambia Football, who claim that the Hammers have now jumped the queue and now sit at the front of the queue to land Daka.
Daka, 22, is one of the top young strikers currently on the European market thanks to his 34 goals this season. The Zambian star has been compared to a number of former players, including Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.
A number of clubs in England are keen on Daka. As reported on TBR previously, the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have all watched his progress.
Further, The Express have claimed in the last few months that Daka could be available for just £17m. That, of course, would be a bargain fee.
But despite all the interest, it is West Ham who appear to be at the forefront at this moment. David Moyes never replaced Sebastien Haller in January, meaning Daka is a realistic target.
Patson Daka one of the best in Europe
What a coup this would be for West Ham if they could get their hands on someone like Patson Daka. He’s one of the hottest properties in world football, nevermind just Europe.
Goals, pace, power, and the potential to become even better, there are few on the market who look quite as good as Daka at the moment.
If West Ham do land him ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and others, then it will be quite the statement.
Of course, the Hammers’ failure to make the Champions League might hinder their chances. But Arsenal haven’t made it either, while Liverpool are managing their summer budget very carefully. The door, then, could well be open for the Hammers to make their move here.
