Arsenal may not find it too difficult to find a buyer for Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer, with The Sun reporting that West Ham United are amongst those to have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the 22-year-old.

The Sun reports that Mikel Arteta is ready to sell Maitland-Niles to help fund an overhaul of his squad.

And it is claimed that he is already attracting a lot of attention. The report suggests that Chelsea are the only London-based club in the Premier League not to take a look at signing the versatile midfielder.

That means, of course, that the Hammers are reportedly keen along with Spurs, Fulham and Crystal Palace.

The Sun notes that Arsenal want £30 million for Maitland-Niles. However, it is also suggested that they may have to be prepared to sell him for £20 million.

TBR View: Maitland-Niles would be shrewd signing for clubs this summer

Maitland-Niles has not quite managed to hold down a spot in Arteta’s side at the Emirates. But in a summer where it is difficult to imagine clubs doing loads of business, it is not tough to see why moving for Maitland-Niles makes sense for many.

The youngster was lauded by Arsenal supporters for his FA Cup final display. Plenty suggested that they did not want to see him leave this summer.

He stepped up on the big stage. And he is also capable of playing in a number of different roles.

If David Moyes is confident that he can realise his potential, then perhaps paying around £20 million could be a very good move from the Hammers this summer.
