West Ham are interested in a January move for Jesse Lingard, but The Telegraph reports that they fear that a problem may arise in their pursuit of the Manchester United star.
Lingard’s days at Old Trafford look numbered after talks over a new contract collapsed during the week. His current terms expire at the end of the campaign.

Unsurprisingly, the events have piqued the interest of several sides. The Telegraph reports that Newcastle want the 28-year-old. Meanwhile, Tottenham were linked with a potential move on Friday.
The Telegraph reports that West Ham want to bring him back to the London Stadium.
However, the Hammers currently sit third in the Premier League table. They are three places higher than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, and are six points clear.

And with that, The Telegraph reports that West Ham fear that a deal may be unlikely due to Manchester United not wanting to strengthen a rival.
Lingard, for his part, will seemingly welcome the chance to return to the Irons. But it would appear that he actually sees his long-term future elsewhere.
The Telegraph claims that his preference is to leave on loan in January. And he would like to move abroad in the summer, with his sights set on Serie A.
West Ham loan for Lingard may not make a lot of sense for Manchester United
Bringing Lingard back would be a huge boost for West Ham. He was sensational during his previous stint.
But on the outside, it is hard to see what Manchester United would get from loaning Lingard to the Hammers – apart from offloading his £75,000-a-week wages.
West Ham therefore, may have to be prepared to make a bid to take him permanently.
