Report: West Ham could look to do deal for Everton's Michael Keane

West Ham could look to do a deal for Michael Keane during the January transfer window should Craig Dawson leave the club, according to a report from 90min.

Dawson may be on the move in the winter, with 90min suggesting that the centre-back could look to join a club closer to his family. And it seems that West Ham are bracing themselves for his potential departure.

The report claims that David Moyes is interested in signing Keane.

West Ham could look to sign Keane

The England international has struggled for game-time for Everton so far this season. He has actually only featured in one Premier League game for Frank Lampard’s side during this campaign.

He has been on the bench in every other game. But it does appear that he could leave Goodison Park.

Previous reports from The Sun have suggested that the Toffees want to sell the 29-year-old, who is also on the radar of Nottingham Forest.

However, the report claimed that they may have to be prepared to accept just £15 million for the defender – half of what they paid for the former Burnley stalwart.

Keane would certainly be an underwhelming signing for the Hammers. His stock has fallen quite considerably during his time at Everton.

Admittedly, the Toffees’ defence is much stronger now. So there is little shame in being behind the likes of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady in the pecking order.

However, it is not a deal which West Ham fans would really welcome.

Perhaps he can emulate Dawson and silence his doubters if he did move. He has previously been described as ‘top-class‘.

But there is no doubt that he would arrive with a massive point to prove.
