West Ham star Manuel Lanzini is reportedly being targeted by French club Marseille, who finished fifth in their league this season.

According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side will be extremely active in this summer’s transfer window.

It is explained that Marseille are looking at the Hammers 28-year-old as a possible target, and the player has taken some advice from some of the French-speaking players at the London Stadium.

The report mentions a possible reunion between him and ex-West Ham man Dimitri Payet at Marseille.

Lanzini, who earns £70,000-a-week, is an attacking midfielder with incredible technique.

Unfortunately, the Argentine playmaker has had some bad luck with injuries, so is no longer a regular starter at the London Stadium.

He played 23 games across all competitions this season, scoring one goal and supplying three assists.

West Ham should consider cashing in on Lanzini

Certainly, Lanzini reserves a special place in the hearts of West Ham supporters.

He was a popular figure earlier on in his Hammers career shining in the creative number 10 position.

Unfortunately, injuries have caught up with him.

Hammers manager David Moyes called him “terrific” earlier in the season. However, perhaps it makes sense to cash in on him with just two years remaining on his contract.
