Tottenham Hotspur right wing-back Emerson Royal only joined the club last summer.

However, he is already being linked with a move away from Spurs.

The Sun recently reported that Tottenham are open to offers for Emerson in the upcoming transfer window.

Now, Marca has claimed that two reigning league champions have made contact over the 23-year-old.

The Spanish outlet claims Atletico Madrid are eyeing Emerson, and first contacted Spurs a month ago.

However, Inter Milan are also apparently keen on the Brazil international.

Marca claims Emerson would be keen on joining the La Liga champions, but they’ll have to negotiate with Spurs.

The defender would prefer a return to Spanish football than a move to Italy, added the report.

Is “amazing” player already off or can Conte galvanise him too?

It looked as though Tottenham had sealed a coup and addressed a long-standing issue in signing Emerson.

He arrived last summer off the back of an impressive spell with Real Betis and a move to Barcelona.

However, Emerson has only shown glimpses of his quality at Spurs and hasn’t cemented a first-team spot.

Reports have even claimed that Barcelona cannot believe that they received £25.8million for him.

Emerson joined Tottenham in wake of a poor season for Matt Doherty.

However, the Irishman has now leapfrogged him in the pecking order.

That said, Doherty’s remarkable improvement suggests it is too soon to write Emerson off at Tottenham.

Graham Roberts deemed the Brazilian “amazing” after one performance earlier this season.

And it’s not just any club reportedly eyeing Emerson – we’re talking about the reigning Spanish and Italian champions.
