Report: Tottenham want Gabriel Jesus as Manchester City exit nears
Tottenham want Gabriel Jesus, with Football London reporting that the striker is expected to leave Manchester City in the summer.
Spurs plan to try and sign a striker in the coming months. Of course, finding cover for Harry Kane has been an issue Tottenham have struggled to address for a number of years.
Paulo Dybala has been linked with a move. However, reports on Thursday have claimed that the Argentinian has ruled out the possibility of moving to Tottenham. Meanwhile, Football London suggests that Dybala is not a target.
But there are other names on their radar.
Football London reports that Tottenham admire Jesus. He is looking set to leave the Etihad Stadium with City signing Erling Haaland ahead of next season. Meanwhile, his contract with the Cityzens expires at the end of next season.
It had appeared that Arsenal may be his most likely destination. The Gunners have reportedly all but agreed personal terms with the Brazilian. And they have made progress in a number of other areas, with City demanding around £51.5 million.
However, with Tottenham looking set to steal fourth spot from them, perhaps Spurs may try their luck for the 25-year-old.
Tottenham want Gabriel Jesus, but Arsenal move may appeal more
Jesus could be a brilliant signing for Tottenham. Pep Guardiola has previously described him as ‘incredible‘. And he actually has a superb record from his time with City.
And a move to Spurs may appeal to Jesus. They look set to be able to offer Champions League football. And they are moving in the right direction under Antonio Conte.
Arsenal will probably be in the Europa League next year. But they can offer Jesus the chance to be the main man. And that may make a big difference if he has a choice this summer.
