Report: Tottenham to go back for Dusan Vlahovic next summer
Tottenham will try to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic again next summer, with reports from Calciomercato in Italy claiming a Spurs bid is in the pipeline.
Vlahovic was high on Fabio Paratici’s agenda this past summer. With the future of Harry Kane in doubt, Vlahovic has emerged as one of the top names to replace the England skipper.
But despite missing out in 2021, Calciomercato claim that Tottenham will push again for Vlahovic next summer. They will face competition from Manchester City and Juventus, however.
Reports this week have suggested the Serbian is close to a new deal. In that deal, there is said to be no release-clause. That, of course, could hinder Spurs’ hopes of landing the forward.
Vlahovic, who scored 21 goals for La Viola last term, has already hit three in five this term. Still only 21-years-old, the young forward is making quite the impression on European football.
TBR’s View: Vlahovic perfect for Tottenham
And that goes for if Harry Kane stays or goes. Put simply, this is a striker who looks to tick all the boxes the top clubs are looking for.
He’ll get better, too. Vlahovic has a strong self belief and has already claimed he can be as good as Erling Haaland if he puts the work in.
That is a bold statement. But, it is a statement that exudes confidence from a young man who clearly backs himself. If Tottenham could pull this one off next summer, then it would be a real statement signing.
