Report: Tottenham the side most interested in Nikola Milenkovic deal
Tottenham Hotspur are the side most interested in signing Nikola Milenkovic, and talks with his agent have now stepped up, according to a report from Tuttosport.
It would not necessarily be a big surprise if Spurs signed another defender in the final stages of the window. The only centre-back Fabio Paratici has landed so far is Clement Lenglet.
And with the Barcelona star on loan, it is not necessarily an issue that Tottenham have addressed once and for all. Certainly, links with other centre-backs have continued.
Reports last week that Spurs were monitoring Milenkovic. And it seems that they are indeed taking their interest to the next level.
According to Tuttosport, no team wants the Serbia international more than Tottenham. And discussions with his representative, Fali Ramadani have now stepped up.
Spurs do not have a clear run to his signature by any means. Both Juventus and Inter Milan also have Milenkovic on their wishlist this summer.
Tottenham the side most interested in Milenkovic
Milenkovic would be a really shrewd signing for Tottenham. So far, the additions they have brought in from Italy since Paratici’s arrival have been extremely impressive.
The likes of Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have proved to be inspired signings.
The 24-year-old has already made over 150 appearances in Italy’s top flight. And he should only get better in the coming years.
He is a well-rounded defender. And he would certainly improve Tottenham’s options.
It seems that a decision on his future may be close with talks between Spurs and his agent intensifying. Plenty of Tottenham fans will hope that they are now able to win the race for his signature.
