Tottenham still want to sign Nicolo Zaniolo before the transfer deadline despite the 23-year-old sustaining an injury that could keep him out for some time, according to a report from 90min.
Zaniolo has been heavily linked with Spurs throughout the window. Reports from last season claimed that the Italy international was Antonio Conte’s dream signing.

However, reports more recently suggested that talks with Roma had stopped with Jose Mourinho desperate to keep Zaniolo this season.
Nevertheless, Conte has reportedly continued to push Fabio Paratici to pursue a deal for Zaniolo. And 90min suggests that that persistence may yet pay off.

According to the report, Tottenham will continue to pursue a deal for Zaniolo. That is despite the youngster dislocating his shoulder at the weekend.
Chelsea are also admirers, while Juventus want him too. Roma meanwhile, want a fee of £42.2 million before they let him leave.
Tottenham still want Nicolo Zaniolo
Spurs have shown that they are prepared to spend money on players who will be unable to make an immediate impact at the club.
In different circumstances, they have signed the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie. Both stayed out on loan following their moves to Tottenham.
So perhaps Spurs feel that spending the money on Zaniolo is worthwhile, even he is recovering from injury. They will have done their diligence on how serious the injury is, particularly as Zaniolo is someone who has dealt with a couple of long-term problems in the past.
He is an ‘incredible‘ talent. And it says a lot that Chelsea and Juve also want him. So Tottenham may think that the gamble is worth taking in the final stages of this window.
