Tottenham Hotspur plan to open talks with Lautaro Martinez next week to understand if a deal for the Inter Milan forward could be possible this summer, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
Martinez is currently expected to remain at San Siro, even if Inter manage to sign both Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku. The Nerazzurri may have to consider big offers for their players.

And Tottenham may be sensing an opportunity. Reports claim Spurs want the Argentinian. Antonio Conte, of course, worked with Martinez while in charge of Inter.
And they are now planning to step up their interest. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Conte and Fabio Paratici could make a move in the coming days.

They want to understand whether a deal could be possible. He has already rejected Arsenal this summer. With that, talks with the relevant parties could start next week. They want to learn just how much it would cost to sign Martinez. Reports claim his asking price could be £55 million.
Tottenham to open talks with Martinez
It would be quite something if Tottenham could sign Martinez. Spurs have already been amongst the early pace-setters in the Premier League this summer.
And Martinez is one of the most exciting forwards in the world right now. Lionel Messi described the 24-year-old as ‘spectacular‘.
Tottenham may feel Lukaku returning to Inter, and being followed by Dybala, may leave Martinez wondering if he would be better off moving on.
A move to Spurs would come with risks. But he has certainly got the quality to turn himself into a regular starter in Conte’s side.
There is plenty of work to do before Martinez ends up moving to North London. But it may not be too long before Tottenham learn whether there is scope for a deal.
