Report: Tottenham now want to sign 22-year-old defender after he was rock solid in World Cup opener
Italian outlet Roma Giallo Rossa have reported on Jose Mourinho’s attempts to bolster his backline in the Italian capital.
Roma want to sign the 22-year-old defender, but the report says that their interest will be complicated by interest from Tottenham.
AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also said to be keen on the Poland international, who played in the 0-0 draw with Mexico on Tuesday.
Tottenham like Kiwior
The Spezia defender helped his side keep a clean sheet in a game where Poland started slowly but kept Mexico largely at bay.
They should have won the game when talisman Robert Lewandowski stepped up to the penalty spot early in the second half but World Cup legend Guillermo Ochoa saved his penalty.
Kiwior was rock solid in that game, showing what he can do on the biggest stage of all and it seems Spurs have taken note of him.
They are not the only London club to admire the defender, with the Polish international reportedly rejecting West Ham last summer.
David Moyes was looking for new defenders but got Thilo Kehrer and Nayef Aguerd through the door, both of whom are also at the World Cup, although the German did not play in their 2-1 loss to Japan yesterday.
It remains to be seen whether Kiwior makes the move to the Premier League eventually and a good World Cup would boost his profile.
