Report: West Ham target Jakub Kiwior closing in on AC Milan move
Jakub Kiwior is closing in on agreeing a move to AC Milan after rejecting the chance to join West Ham in the summer, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Of course, David Moyes was forced to do a lot of work at centre-back over the summer. Nayef Aguerd arrived in the early stages of the window.
However, he suffered an injury in pre-season which has ruled the Moroccan out for some time. And with that, West Ham went on to sign Thilo Kehrer.
But there could have been another name lining up at the London Stadium had events played out differently. According to Foot Mercato, Kiwior turned down the chance to join the Hammers.
But it seems that it may not be too long before he does secure a move. Foot Mercato reports that AC Milan and Spezia have been in talks over a deal and they have nearly reached an agreement.
The Rossoneri are ready to pay £15.7 million plus bonuses for the 22-year-old. Meanwhile, talks between Milan and Kiwior’s representatives are at an advanced stage.
It is noted that the two sides are optimistic about reaching an agreement.
Kiwior closing in on AC Milan move
It is a blow that West Ham will seemingly miss the chance to sign Kiwior. He looks to have an incredibly bright future ahead.
Milan have had a mixed start to the campaign. But they did win the Scudetto last season. So they are looking to become more of a force in European football once again.
West Ham do have a decent amount of depth at centre-back. So they may not rue missing out on Kiwior for the time-being.
But obviously, he is a very talented prospect. So it may be one deal West Ham fans do reflect upon in the years to come.
