Tottenham want a Pau Torres swap deal this summer which includes Giovani Lo Celso, according to the Daily Mirror.
They report that Antonio Conte wants a new central defender in the summer as he looks to take his Spurs squad to the next level.
It has already been reported that Conte wants an upgrade on Ben Davies, and that the Italian has personally requested Inter’s Stefan de Vrij.
But the Mirror report that Tottenham view Torres as a better potential longer term option and are looking into ways of signing him.

Tottenham want a Pau Torres swap deal
Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is currently on loan with Torres’ club Villarreal and could apparently hold the key to landing the defender.
A potential barrier to Lo Celso joining the Champions League semi-finalists is the different budgets in the Premier League and La Liga.
But perhaps a compromise could be found which would also leave Tottenham with enough budget to spend on the rest of their squad.
Graham Roberts has labelled Torres an ‘absolutely brilliant player’ amid Tottenham’s long term interest, although there is competition from Manchester United.

The release clause of Torres sits somewhere between the £47m and £53m mark, which is affordable for Tottenham but it is probably right at that top end and would not leave huge amounts for much else.
If Lo Celso could get the outlay down, that would be a boost.
That said, there may be some fans who think that if Conte really has personally requested de Vrij, then Daniel Levy should go and get him, giving the Italian players he wants.
Spurs showed what they can do defensively with their current personnel in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, and need a win in tomorrow’s north London derby to keep their Champions League hopes for next season alive.
