Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Unai Simon as they continue to consider who will succeed Hugo Lloris in the future, according to a report from Marca.
Lloris recently put an end to immediate speculation about his future by signing a new contract that will run until 2024. It comes with the Frenchman enjoying a superb spell in his career.

Of course, he is now 35 years of age. So Tottenham still need to look at who may replace Lloris further down the line.
Pierluigi Gollini is currently on loan in North London. And Marca notes that Tottenham have options to extend his loan or make his move permanent this summer.

However, Gollini is yet to really prove himself with Antonio Conte’s side. He has struggled for opportunities with Lloris continuing to impress.
Reports earlier this season claimed that some at Tottenham had concerns about his fitness. So it is probably little surprise that Spurs appear to be looking elsewhere also.
And the player they have their eye on is Simon. Marca reports that they are interested in the Athletic goalkeeper. However, he is under contract until 2025 and is thought to have no release clause.
Unai Simon could be an amazing signing for Tottenham
Simon boasts a hugely impressive record in La Liga. In fact, in 99 games at that level, he has conceded 98 goals. Meanwhile, he has kept 31 clean sheets.
This season, he boasts the second-highest save percentage in La Liga, according to FB Ref. Meanwhile, he is outperforming his expected goals conceded by two.
Simon has also received 20 caps for Spain. And while his most infamous moment may have come with the own goal he conceded at Euro 2020, he received plenty of plaudits at that tournament for the way he responded from that point. Koke labelled him ‘incredible‘.
Lloris will, one day, leave a huge void at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But Simon looks to have the potential to be an outstanding successor for Spurs.
