Report: Tottenham look to sign Gordon in swap; Ndombele an option
Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Everton discussing the idea of Tanguy Ndombele, Matt Doherty or Jack Clarke leaving in a swap deal as Spurs look to sign Anthony Gordon, according to a report from 90min.
It has been clear for some time that Tottenham have plenty to discuss with the Toffees. Reports have stated that they are incredibly keen on Richarlison.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard’s men want Harry Winks. However, another name has been thrown into the mix on Monday.
Tottenham want Gordon. 90min reports that discussions have been held regarding a potential deal for the attacking midfielder, as well as Richarlison.
Spurs would ideally like to set up a swap deal in their pursuit of the Everton pair. And three more names in Antonio Conte’s squad have been mentioned as potential candidates to move to Merseyside.
According to 90min, the names of Ndombele, Doherty and Clarke have been floated. It is not entirely clear whether those names were put forward by Spurs or Everton. And it is not known whether the Toffees would be keen on any.

Obviously, the three players would hold very different price-tags. Ndombele is Tottenham’s record signing. And while his move has not worked out, you would imagine that Spurs would like to recoup much of what they spent.
Meanwhile, Doherty has enjoyed a career resurgence under Conte. So his stock is probably as high as it has been since his Spurs switch.
And Clarke unfortunately, has been a disappointing addition for Tottenham. So he would probably not knock much off the fee if he moved to Goodison Park.
Doherty is perhaps the player who would appeal to Everton most. Ndombele is a ‘magnificent‘ talent. But he would command huge wages. And it is ominous that he struggled back at Lyon on loan last season.
Clarke would be a low-risk addition. But Doherty would likely have the biggest impact if he joined Everton.
