Report: Tottenham can sign £38m-rated Mourinho target for less than half-price
Tottenham could be offered the chance to sign Nikola Milenkovic for a bargain price this summer, according to Calciomercato.
Fiorentina star Milenkovic has been on the radar of Spurs for some time now, going back to when Jose Mourinho was in charge. Arsenal, too are also said to be keen on the 23-year-old.
It’s now claimed that the Serie A side could accept a bid in the region of £15-18m for the Serbian star. Milenkovic’s contract is due to expire next summer, leaving the Viola with little choice.
Tottenham, despite not having a manager in place yet, could well still move for him. Fabio Paratici has close ties to the Italian game as we know, so a deal shouldn’t be ruled out.
However, Daniel Levy does need to get that manager in. Tottenham are looking a bit of a shambles at the moment on that front.
And the longer that goes on, the less likely it is players will join.
Tottenham need players like Nikola Milenkovic but they need a manager quick
It almost feels like we’re repeating ourselves but the longer this drags on with Spurs, the more players like Milenkovic will slip through the net.
Reports are already suggesting Juventus are sniffing. That in itself is worrying enough for Spurs, nevermind not having a manager.
With Milenkovic being available so cheap, it’s the sort of deal you’d expected Spurs to be in for. But the manager situation is holding everything back.
Levy, then, needs to be acting quickly. Milenkovic might end up being the first of many to drift by. If more follow, then Spurs fans will rightfully be frustrated.
