Tottenham Hotspur linked Danny Ings is holding out for a transfer to Manchester City or Manchester United, according to talkSPORT.
Spurs have made the Southampton ace their top target to partner Harry Kane up front. The club was quoted a price tag of £25m by the Saints.
The centre-forward rejected a new four-year contract from the south coast outfit last week. It would have made the Englishman the highest-paid player in Saints history.
Ings’ current deal is due to expire at the end of next season. Ralph Hasenhuttl has spoken of his frustration at the rejection, claiming it’s ‘not a perfect situation’.
Despite interest from the Lilywhites, Alex Crooks has said he is waiting for the Manchester giants. However, the transfer expert thinks neither club will start ‘banging on the door’ for Ings.

Tottenham may need to hold on
Tottenham may need to hold on in order to secure a transfer for Ings. The striker clearly has higher aspirations than the north London outfit.
However, as time goes on Spurs will find a move easier to complete for the 28-year-old for two reasons.
While he will want a move to Old Trafford or the Etihad Stadium, both clubs will be targeting world-class players.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak has already claimed that the Citizens will replace Sergio Aguero with the ‘right player’. Given the world-class ability of the Argentine, it would be shocking if they chose Ings as his replacement.
The second reason is the ace’s contract situation. As the window moves further and further forward, Southampton will get desperate.
With just a year left on Ings’ deal, Southampton can ill-afford to let him leave on a free. Therefore, Spurs stand a better chance of signing the forward.
