Tottenham Hotspur would have to pay over £25 million to sign Danny Ings from Southampton, the Athletic report.
Top target
Tottenham are thought to have made Ings one of their top targets, as they look to strengthen up-front.
But it seems that his price-tag could be a problem, with Southampton not wanting to sell.
Ings has just a year remaining on his current Saints contract, and the south coast side are still hoping that he may commit his future.
Even if he doesn’t, Southampton are more inclined to keep Ings around than let him go cheaply.
Too expensive?
That could be a blow to Tottenham’s plans, as they are shopping on a limited budget.

Spurs may be loathed to spend a large sum on a player who they could land for free in under a year, given their need to be smart with their summer spending.
Tottenham do need to find a striker who can compliment Harry Kane next season, though.
Spurs have lost Carlos Vinicius, meaning there is clearly a gap in their squad for another forward to join.
