Report: Tottenham interested in Dean Henderson deal this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Dean Henderson this summer with the Manchester United goalkeeper planning to consider his options, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.

It would be little surprise to see Henderson push to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. He has not managed to make one appearance in the Premier League this term.

The Daily Mirror reports that he has been left furious. He has been unable to push ahead of David de Gea in the pecking order. And with that, clubs are queuing up to make a potential move.

Reports claimed that Newcastle want the 25-year-old. And the Mirror reports that both Ajax and Tottenham are interested in Henderson ahead of the summer.

Henderson move may be too good an opportunity for Tottenham to turn down

Tottenham will need to agree a deal for a goalkeeper in the coming months. Hugo Lloris has signed a new contract. But Pierluigi Gollini is yet to shine while on loan.

As things stand, it would be no surprise to see Spurs let Gollini return to Atalanta. There is a chance that he could have already made his final appearance for the club with Antonio Conte’s men only having the Premier League to concentrate on.

Henderson may be reluctant to join Tottenham. Lloris remains the clear number one in North London. And the Frenchman will hope to keep his spot next season. And Henderson will not want to spend another season on the bench.

However, the England international is an ‘amazing‘ talent. And Spurs may be wary of missing out if he is available.

Tottenham need to prepare for life after Lloris at some stage in the next couple of years. And there have been occasions this term when his form has been a little concerning.

Henderson’s potential availability therefore, may well alert those working behind the scenes at Tottenham.
