Tottenham Hotspur are once again interested in trying to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

That’s according to InterLive.it, who believe Spurs want to sign the Argentinian next summer.

Spurs made a £78m (€90m) offer for Martinez last summer, and the report suggests Martinez is once again on their radar.

Antonio Conte’s future is one of the main talking points at Tottenham right now.

A report from La Repubblica suggests that Spurs are keen for Conte to sign a new deal during the World Cup.

As part of the deal, InterLive believe Tottenham having promised Conte ‘further investments’ next season.

Part of that investment would be spent reunited Conte with one of his star strikers.

It wouldn’t be the first time Tottenham have looked to Serie A to improve Conte’s squad.

Ivan Perisic, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have already arrived from Italy and improved Tottenham’s team.

Martinez could be the next import from Conte’s homeland to arrive in north London

Tottenham want to sign Martinez

Martinez was one of Tottenham’s top targets this summer as well, but a move never materialised.

Instead, he remained at Inter where he’s once again partnered up with Romelu Lukaku.

Martinez is a fan of Conte, and has previously said he’s a ‘great coach’.

“Before returning to train I had already spoken with Conte, he is a great coach who wants the strikers to play close to each other to create a lot of chances,” Martinez said.

Conte would have a job on his hands integrating Martinez into Tottenham’s starting line-up.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have formed a fantastic partnership over the last few years at Spurs.

The introduction of Kulusevski appears to have made the two prolific forwards even more effective.

Martinez is a potent finisher, but also works very hard off the ball.

It’s no surprise Tottenham want to sign Martinez again.

However, the finances and his suitability to break into Spurs’ team mean there are question marks over whether it will happen.
