Tottenham Hotspur have actually looked into doing a loan deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi this summer, but Sky Sports reports that the club need to sell the player due to his contract situation.
It seems that Malinovskyi is the latest player for Spurs to target this summer after already bringing in seven players to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad.
Conte has added players that cover a range of positions across his team, but the club are still on the lookout for more attacking players.
Reports suggested this week that Spurs were interested in bringing ‘brilliant’ Malinovskyi to North London, with Sergio Reguilon possibly going the other way.
But it would appear that Conte’s men have hit a stumbling block due to Atalanta’s stance on the move.

Tottenham looked into loan deal for Malinovskyi
Sky Sports reports that Spurs were actually interested in signing Malinovskyi on loan this summer.
But Atalanta are only willing to let the 29-year-old leave on a permanent basis.
This is down to the Ukraine international only having one-year left on his current deal, so the Italian club do not want to risk losing him for free next year.
Tottenham have completed some superb business this summer as they’ve filled positions across the pitch.
But the one position that eludes them is an attacking midfielder. And Malinovsky could have been the missing piece of the jigsaw for Spurs.

The midfielder has been efficient for Atalanta since joining the Serie A outfit back in 2019. He’s already scored and assisted in two Serie A appearances this season too.
Malinovskyi could represent a cheaper option for Spurs late on in the window after talks for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo have seemingly broken down.
Conte will be keen to sign a creative midfielder before the window shuts, but it seems that the club will have to move for different targets if they aren’t prepared to meet Atalanta’s demands.
It would make no sense for the Italian club to loan out the player when he’s got just a year left on his current deal.
