Report: Tottenham approached by Everton over 'formidable' player
Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura is reportedly the subject of an approach from Premier League rivals Everton.
This is according to Brazilian outlet UOL, via Sport Witness.
Moura is set to leave Tottenham when his Spurs contract expires at the end of the season.
The Lilywhites reportedly had the opportunity to extend his contract by a year, but the deadline has passed.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Spurs had until the end of December to trigger the option.
Meanwhile, Everton are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table and need attacking reinforcements.
And on Wednesday, UOL’s Marcelo Hazan relayed information from fellow journalist Andre Hernan on Moura.
They said Everton had made an approach for the Spurs ace, but gave little else away.
According to Sport Witness, UOL was streaming their De Primeira show, where they comment on the recent transfer news they’ve been reporting.
And the Moura comment was apparently ‘more of a tease of what is to come’, potentially on Hernan’s blog or YouTube channel.

Moura’s place in Tottenham history has been assured, thanks to his efforts in the 2018-19 Champions League campaign.
However, he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for much of his time at N17. This remains the case now.
This season has been particularly difficult for Moura. He has just 269 minutes of football over 11 appearances under his belt, with no goals or assists.
Moura has been described as a ‘formidable‘ and ‘amazing‘ player, and Everton could certainly do with his talent and experience.
Better still, because his contract’s up soon, the Toffees wouldn’t have to spend a massive amount of money on him.
