Report: Tottenham admirers of Leicester City star Harvey Barnes
January is going to be a crucial month for Spurs. Antonio Conte’s men find themselves in the top-four in the Premier League. And they are also through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, they have not been particularly impressive so far this term. They have now conceded the opening goal in their last nine games in all competitions.
There is still an opportunity to achieve something special. But it does appear that they need to pull something out of the bag in the market to boost their hopes of realising their potential.
Tottenham interested in Harvey Barnes
And it seems that they have a number of players on their radar. One player, according to Football London, is Barnes, with Paratici a fan of the Leicester City star’s versatility.
Barnes has scored six goals for Leicester this season. Only James Maddison has managed more for the Foxes. And he is someone who has played in a number of positions during his career.
He has predominantly starred on the left. And he has managed 52 goal contributions in 126 Premier League games with Leicester.
Football London does hint that a move is unlikely as he will command a hefty fee. He also has some time left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester reportedly wanted £60 million in the summer when Newcastle were sniffing around. And they may perhaps hold out for a similar figure in January given the timing.
But Barnes is an extremely exciting talent. Jurgen Klopp has previously suggested that he is ‘unbelievable‘.
Signing for Spurs would be a real statement from Fabio Paratici.
