Report: Spurs pursuit of Bryan Gil slightly delayed; Paratici busy with other deals

Spurs are hoping to sign Sevilla winger Bryan Gil, but as yet, no deal has been concluded for the youngster to arrive in North London as yet.

Fabio Paratici has been a busy man in the last few weeks and days. The new Spurs supremo is close to landing Pierluigi Gollini, while Cristian Romero is another deal that is close.

Reports this week emerged to suggest that Spurs have agreed a deal which will see Gil move to Spurs for £23m, plus Erik Lamela going the other way.

However, while the deal is still expected to go ahead, ABC Sevilla have now reported that the Paratici’s other involvements have left the Lamela and Gil deal cast aside for now.

Gil’s involvement with the Olympics is also said to be a factor. The report claims Paratici is in a ‘whirlwind’ of operations at the moment. And in fairness, it’s hard to argue with that statement.

But Spurs fans needn’t fear too much. The report also states that a move for Gil is still expected. It seems to be a case of when Paratici gets round to it that’s all.

Breathing easy

Spurs’ managerial saga in the summer has left an element of distrust among some of the fanbase. But Paratici seems to be slowly getting everyone onboard.

A flurry of new signings are expected, with Gil among them. The delay here is probably nothing out of the ordinary. Spurs fans, then, should rest easy…for now at least.
