Report: Spurs-linked Lorenzo Insigne increasingly likely to leave Napoli; £25m could do it
Spurs could yet get their hands on Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne this summer, with the Italian star looking more likely than ever to leave.
The Euro 2020 star and eventual winner is a man in-demand it seems this summer. Reports over the weekend suggested that Tottenham have already made some sort of move for Insigne.
Insigne is something of a legend in Naples already. He’s made just shy of 400 appearances for the club, scoring over 100 goals in the process.
However, Corriere Dello Sport have claimed today that Insigne’s future is looking more unstable than ever. Napoli are thought to be wanting to either keep, or even lower his salary. Insigne, meanwhile, wants a new deal, with control of image rights said to be causing an issue.
Napoli, then, are facing up to the prospect of selling him this summer and could accept as little as £25m for the Italian star.
With his contract up in 2022, Napoli may have to cash in. Spurs, meanwhile, will be monitoring developments closely in the coming weeks.
Time to swoop
Whenever there is a bit of unrest, it’s the best time to move and Fabio Paratici will know this. Insigne is a top player, and someone who’d improve Spurs immediately.
At just £25m, there won’t be many forwards on the market who represent such value in this summer’s market.
If Spurs and Paratici are serious about showing their mettle this summer, then landing someone like Insigne is the perfect chance to display it.
