Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign a new creative midfielder in the January transfer window.

And it looks as though Spurs have locked in on one particular player – Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskiy.

A few days ago, Sport Mediaset reported that Tottenham were in pole position for the Ukraine international.

Now, Tuttoatalanta has claimed that La Dea have identified Malinovskiy’s replacement.

They are apparently eyeing Feyenoord and Poland ace Sebastian Szymanski.

This suggests that Atalanta have all-but accepted that Malinovskiy will be leaving in January.

Malinovskyi, a versatile and experienced set-piece expert, is a great shout for Tottenham.

The 29-year-old would also tick the new playmaker box, as this is his primary position at Atalanta.

That said, Conte could play him in a variety of positions, including up front and potentially at wing-back.

Reports have previously suggested that he would love to move to Tottenham, so it shouldn’t be hard to land him.

Malinovskyi’s age experience in Serie A and Europe means he should – in theory – hit the ground running for Spurs.

And in terms of price tag, Calciomercato claim that the ‘extraordinary‘ tlaent will command a £25million fee.

Perhaps a little steep due to his age. However, if he can help push Spurs on in the Champions League and up the Premier League table, he’d have been worth every penny.
