Spurs are inching ever closer to completing a deal for Atalanta defender, Cristian Romero, with the defender having already agreed personal terms.
The deal for Romero has been ongoing for some time now, but a breakthrough was reached over the weekend it seems. Reports on Sunday suggested a £43m fee has been agreed.
And now Football.London have claimed that Romero has indeed already agreed terms with Spurs. The only remaining issue is for Atalanta to ensure they have suitable replacements in the bag.

So far, the Italians have signed youngster Matteo Lovato. But FL claim that they want another new face in the door.
New Spurs transfer chief Fabio Paratici has been keen to make a statement in the market ever since he arrived earlier this summer. With deals for Gollini and Bryan Gil already done, Romero’s arrival is a bigger statement.
Romero’s arrival could coincide with trouble at Spurs in the form of Harry Kane as well. The England skipper has apparently failed to report for training today, despite being due back.
Announcement soon
This deal for Romero hasn’t half seemed to drag on. But it seems Spurs are getting there and it will be a huge signing.
An announcement will surely come this week, and while the Kane saga could dominate, news of Romero’s arrival will be a huge boost.
With the season starting in two weeks, Nuno Santo needs his new players through the door and settled in. Romero will be a regular starter, so the sooner this one is announced, the better.
